Innovative solutions for incredible savings

Our client was looking for a solution to reduce their considerable energy spend of £1.09m per year. We worked with them to assess their site and proposed an innovative solution to utilise a large car park roof area on a Victorian Train Shed to install a 258kw solar array feeding their 800 student flats reducing their energy spend by over £100k per annum.

This results in a lifetime saving of over £2.6m and an annual reduction of carbon production of over 39 tonnes co2 or the equivalent of planting 1826 trees. We handled the complete process including District Network Operator approvals, planning, safety, scaffolding, installation and commissioning. To facilitate the install additional roofing works were required which we completed in conjunction with the solar install resulting in a reduced installation cost.

Following the installation the client wanted to understand the detail of their energy bill and where it was being consumed so energy monitoring was installed to identify further areas of saving.
